See Joseph as Hamlet

On a dark eerie night a ghost resembling the recently deceased King of Denmark walks the ramparts of Elsinore Castle. The voice from the grave tells Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, that Claudius the former King’s brother murdered him. Hamlet vows revenge on Claudius, who has not only succeeded the King’s throne but has also married his mother, Gertrude.

Joseph commented on the role:
“It’s every actor’s dream to play Hamlet and I do feel the part has haunted me, for a very long time.I have seen the play, more than twenty times and for the last few years have also taken to reading it, for my pleasure too. When my own wonderful father died a few years back the play was in my mind and in my pocket often. It’s an endless beautiful poem of a play it's true but you know, watching it is so exciting, it's a thriller with brains and an awful lot of laughs too! I am thrilled to be able to finally play the part, especially as I know how well it works in the open air having previously seen my wife in a production at Regents Park. I feel honoured to
be working with our director Bill Buckhurst, in what I have heard is the loveliest Open Air theatre space in England.”

Well, I'm so glad I listened to your recommendation KL... what a superb last night we had at the production of Hamlet in Stafford!
The setting was magnificent but it was overshadowed by the even more magnificent Joseph in the lead role; well worth the trip from Cardiff! The four hour journey home flashed by as we relived the scenes and Joseph's physical/comic/tragic performance!!
Awesome! :0

Hamlet 4 July 2008

I would like to salute you and the rest of the cast on a superb evening's entertainment at Stafford Castle. Your witty and athletic performance kept me riveted for the full 3 hours and I will certainly be recommending the your play to my friends.

I am a regular theatregoer in London and attend the Globe and Regents Park open air theatre throughout the summer. If only we could see your Hamlet there I would love to see it a second time.

Highly recommended to any Shakespearephobes!

I saw it myself this

I saw it myself this afternoon and have to agree with your every word. The *to be or not to be* scene was completely mesmerising. I would recommend seeing Joseph in any production as he is always superb on stage, but especially when doing Shakespeare.
