Radio 4: Little Dorrit parts 1&2 broadcast in October

The Forstye Saga parts 1&2 open at The Park Theatre in London this Friday 11th October, with Joseph Millson as Soames Forsyte. For those who cant get to London to see The Forsyte Saga, there is consolation. Joseph is featured in both parts of BBC Radio 4 production of Little Dorrit

Joseph will play Merdle in a dramatisation of the famous Dickens novel, with part 1 broadcast on Radio 4 at 3pm on Sunday 13th October, with part 2 broadcasting on Sunday 20th October.

In 2020 writer Ray Connolly spent six months in hospital with Covid. As the virus attacked his body, he was, for much of the time, in a coma. Unaware of how doctors and nurses were saving his life, his mind was filled with fantasies. Only when he recovered did he discover that his wife, Plum, had sent daily bulletins on his condition to their children, some of which had made harrowing reading. Devoted is the story of how Plum would fear the ringing of the phone from the hospital, but also of how music was used to break into Ray’s coma and help nurse him back to health.

A new drama for Radio 3 will broadcast tonight at 7.30pm. Joseph Millson stars as Pierre in 'The Son' written Florian Zeller, and translated by Christopher Hampton.

Starring Laurie Kynaston, Joseph Millson and Nicola Walker, in a translation by Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller’s timely play about parenthood explores the impact of mental illness on an already fractured family.

Pierre is about to realise a career dream and has a new baby with his second wife Sofia. Into this picture of family happiness walks his son, Nicolas, by his first wife, Anne. Nicolas has been struggling with depression, has fallen out with his mum and thinks coming to live with his dad will help him get back on track. It’s not long before past and present collide, reawakening resentments and painful memories.
