Banished: Russell Tovey says they expect series 2 news any day

Russell Tovey was promoting Banished and the DVD release on today's Paul O'Grady Show on ITV. As well as saying kind words about Joseph being a phenomenal actor after a clip was shown, he was asked about series 2 news. Apparently they expect to hear something any day now, so keep tweeting your support, and encourage people to watch the show! Click the link to watch the Paul O'Grady show on catch up.

The BBC released Banished series 1 on DVD today. It is available to buy from the usual outlets, including Amazon. If you want series 2, tell everyone you know to watch Banished on iPlayer and / or buy the DVD!  You can also find Banished for download on iTunes and Amazon. The iTunes series pass includes some of the behind the scenes extras, also found on the DVD!

The Guardian Observer posted a great review for Banished this morning, calling for another series of the show!

Banished ended badly for pretty much everyone, as it was always going to do as soon as one eyeballed Jimmy McGovern’s credits on the writing. He tried, he really did.

For weeks it was glorious, and cleverly soapy, and intriguing, and incidentally is in danger of making a seriously good late-in-life leading man, a la Clooney, of Julian Rhind-Tutt.
