Another interesting interview with The Ford Brothers for Sky Movies can be found here. As with other interviews about the film, fascinating tales from filming in India have been shared.

Despite limited resources, The Dead 2: India is a larger production than the first instalment. A helicopter shot of lead Joe Millson hanging off a massive wind turbine is breathtaking, and signals a leap forward in the Fords’ ambition.

“We were able to do some aerial photography on this film,” Jon explains, “which allowed us to raise the bar and add new elements. We planned aerial shots for the first Dead but most of the money went on bribery and corruption.

The performances are pretty good for the genre, in particular Joseph Millson as Nicholas and Anand Krishna Goyal as Javed. For a child actor Goyal is convincing and thankfully not annoying. Millson is very affective during a scene in the middle of the desert where he is forced to make a very difficult choice. It is their story that propels the film and it would have likely faltered had they not delivered.

The Dead 2: India is the Gravity of Indian zombie movies. Wait, is that going to get old? So I never saw The Dead but despite its flaws, The Dead 2: India is so ballsy I definitely want to see the Ford brothers previous film. That’s one of the joys of film festivals, seeing a movie you love and doing some homework to see the filmmakers’ previous films. And this one is a sequel so Franchise Fred has to do his homework!

Actor Joseph Millson carries a majority of the film, and thankfully he is an actor that is not only up to the task; but is one who has the ability to do so. It’s a wonderful cast overall, but these two actors in particular deserve a special mention, they were both just such a pleasure to watch and the connection is there right from the beginning.
